Activities That Inspire and Grow

Sports

Sport is an essential part of character formation.

Through multiple disciplines, tournaments, and participation in local and international competitions, our students develop discipline, perseverance, and a team mindset while taking their talent to the next level.

Flexible Academic Programme for High-Performance Athletes

Year-Round Tournaments:

We Are One (WAO) Games:

We support the growth of your children through more than 15 available sports activities. We offer everything from Aquatic Stimulation for babies to Rugby, Tennis, and Golf for older students.

For those who develop their talent at an elite level, we offer a flexible academic programme for high-performance athletes. This programme and its policy ensure that our students receive a world-class education without compromising their rigorous training schedules or tournament commitments.

Local, national, and international sports tournaments take place throughout the entire year.

We are proud to be the organisers and hosts of the WAO Games. Each year, around 500 athletes from more than 15 IB schools in Colombia gather at CCB to bring their sporting passion to life and forge bonds of unity with other students.

Arts

The arts are experienced on a grand scale and across all ages.
At CCB, art is not a secondary activity; it is a fundamental language. We believe that aesthetic sensitivity and creative expression are essential for shaping well-rounded minds. From the first brushstrokes in Preschool to major performances in Secondary, our students experience art as a tool to gain confidence and discover their own voice.
Our artistic curriculum offers training in various areas, allowing each student to find their passion:

Music

Visual Arts:

Theater

Dance:

From choral singing in Primary School to our outstanding CCB Symphonic Band, where discipline and harmony meet.

Spaces for experimentation with different media (painting, sculpture, and digital drawing) to transform ideas and emotions into artworks.

We understand that art reaches its full potential when shared. Its ultimate expression is found in the Early Childhood Summer Show.

The body as an instrument of communication and self-knowledge.

Leadership: A Vocation to Transform

At CCB, academic excellence reaches its highest purpose when talent is put at the service of others. Beyond the classroom, we cultivate “minds and hearts” committed to human, ethical leadership capable of leaving a positive, lasting mark on the world.

  • CCBMUN: The Colombo Británico Model United Nations, where students from different schools gather every year to debate solutions to global challenges.

  • House System: Our British tradition fosters teamwork and collaborative leadership.

  • IB Projects: From The Exhibition in Primary to the Personal Project, where students lead research projects driven by their passions and social impact.

  • Service Trips through Round Square: Our students have the opportunity to travel the world and serve from the heart. From villages in Thailand to Vietnam, on these service trips, students work alongside peers from around the globe to support various infrastructure or sustainability projects in communities selected by Round Square.

Service in Action

We prepare our students to lead with sound judgment in real-world contexts through platforms that challenge their ability to formulate arguments and propose solutions:

CAS: The Heart of Our Social Responsibility

Our Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) program is the driving force that transforms students in grades 6 through 11 into agents of change. It is not merely a curricular requirement; it is a platform for holistic development where leadership is defined by the capacity to serve.Through CAS, our students turn theory into real-world impact.

  • Our conviction: Grades without character hold no value. At the CCB, our graduates leave with elite academic results but, above all, with the empathy and integrity needed to lead a purposeful life.

Our Houses

"Canning." "Ferguson." "O’Leary." "Rooke." These have been the House names since the dawn of the School. They run deep in the hearts of CCB alumni, and our current students are experiencing an awakening towards this British school tradition that has painted our CCB red, yellow, green and blue for decades. Whether you’re Canning or Rooke, one thing’s for sure… we are all CCB!

O'Leary (Daniel Florence O'Leary):

Irish general who fought in many of Bolívar's wars. He wrote Bolívar's memoirs and compiled his correspondence.

Canning (George Canning):

English statesman and Minister of Foreign Affairs who recognized the independence of the Spanish colonies in the Americas.

Rooke (James Rooke):

Irish colonel who fought in Waterloo and came to fight in Venezuela and Colombia. At the Battle of Vargas Swamp (Pantano de Vargas), he lost his left arm and died shortly after.

Ferguson (William Ferguson):

Irish colonel who fought in Venezuela, Colombia, and Peru. Bolívar named him his aide-de-camp, and he died defending the 'Libertador' in Bogotá.

We foster a global mindset so that our students feel “at home” no matter where they are in the world.

  • Since 2021, CCB has been part of Round Square, a worldwide network of elite schools committed to character development. Our education aligns with its six fundamental pillars (IDEALS):
  • Democracy
  • Environmentalism
  • Adventure
  • Leadership
  • Service

Being part of this network allows our community to connect and collaborate with institutions worldwide. Through international conferences and service projects, we guarantee that the education at CCB goes beyond academics, delivering resilient, empathetic individuals to the world who are ready to lead change on both a local and global scale.
