It was a June evening in 1956. Fourteen visionaries gathered at the Biblioteca Departamental in Cali, united by a single bold idea: a British school, bilingual and forward-thinking, rooted in Colombian soil. Their names, as written in the “Acta No.1” were: Luis Emilio Sardi, Mario Córdoba, Maurice Hannaford, Diego Garcés Giraldo, A.E.B Laurence, Alfredo Restrepo Lloreda, Tom Brown, Bernardo Garcés Córdoba, Jaime Carvajal, Eduardo Garcés Córdoba, Carlos Espíndola, Herbert Heller, Lillian Córdoba de Holguín, Julio H. Calonje, Álvaro Vallejo O’Byrne, Carlos Tulio Durán, Álvaro Garcés Giraldo, and Jaime Castro.
They debated, they planned, and at half past ten that night, they signed. The Corporación Colegio Colombo Británico was born. The School was officially founded on that night and they knew that it was only the start. The beginning of a great British International school in Cali.
What we’ve come to know as our second home. 2026-2027 will be the year to celebrate our past, present and future.
